Did some filming for Falcyyr today (see officialblog.falcyyrmovie.com) and worked with a great group of girls. We didn’t have everyone we wanted here today because of the weather and some scheduling conflicts but we were able to do some cool things with the ones that were here today. Kids are great to work with. These girls were spot on all day. They hung around for hours in costume without complaining, learned their lines the first time hearing them and delivered again and again beautifully. In the end it was the parents who were tired and the kids who wanted to keep on working! Bravo girls, you were great today and it was a lot of fun working with you.

August is proving to be a crazy month here at Unicovia Pictures! We have been working very diligently to finish the filming and editing for our first feature film, Anikruya. As I write this, we have less than two weeks before the premiere in Arlington MA and are out straight with the preparations and the final editing. During all this we have also been gathering and interviewing cast and crew for our next film Falcyyr, slated to start production this fall. Our weekends have been full to the brim with precasting and doing the preliminary work for Falcyyr in addition to finishing up Anikruya. And to top it all off (as if that all weren’t enough to lose sleep over) this weekend we are going to be participating in the Portland 48 hour film project. That means from 7:00pm on Friday until 7:00pm on Sunday we will be doing nothing but filming, editing and scoring a short film from scratch. Phew! We’re going to be a very tired–but very fulfilled–bunch by the end of this month!

Who says you can’t do what you love?

Starring Ahura Z. Diliiza, Courtney Zang, Nirakazi Ng and Olivia Goncalves, . Written and directed by Ahura Z. Diliiza. An ancient living book discovered by a teenage girl recites a tale of purity, magic, adventure and fantasy.

Tessa, a high school student (Goncalves), falls asleep studying in the library to awaken in a dream where an ancient book appears before her. Upon opening the book, she discovers it is alive in the person of a young girl named Kang Yi (Zang). Kang Yi, the Living Book, tells the story of how she was chosen by the Great Bookmakers to become the chapter of Purity in the Eternal Life Book, and how she was protected and escorted by a legendary creature in human form (Diliiza) and his apprentice (Ng).

To others, this being is known as the Unicorn, but to Kang Yi, he is Anikruya.
